Principal Message

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

I have the best job in the world! I get to spend my days mentoring teachers, supporting parents, and loving students. There’s no better place to do that than East Layton Elementary.

As principal of East Layton, I will strive daily to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe in the power of collaboration and open communication among parents, teachers, and the community. Together, we can provide an amazing education that fosters character development, resilience, and a lifelong love for learning.

As the educational leader of the school, I will create an atmosphere to encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. My goal is to empower students to become confident, compassionate, and responsible individuals who are well-prepared for their future endeavors.

I wholeheartedly believe that parental involvement plays a crucial role in a child's success, and I am committed to establishing strong partnerships between home and school. I encourage you to reach out to me or our dedicated staff members with any questions, concerns, or ideas you may have. Your input and active participation are invaluable in creating the best possible educational experience for our students.

Mr. Farnsworth grew up in Cache Valley and graduated from both Logan High School and Utah State University. He holds a master’s degree in Elementary Education and a School Leadership Endorsement. Over his 20+ years of experience he has served as a Spanish Specialist, After-School Program Coordinator, Classroom Teacher, State Assessment Coordinator, and Elementary Principal.
